About our school

I am Rajashree Naikwadi. I started The Dream World Pre-School in Nerul West, Navi Mumbai in 2016, and I still run it myself. Our classes are Playgroup, Nursery, Junior KG, Senior KG, Daycare. This page tells you who we are, and how a teacher's parents talked her into opening a school.

Chapter 1

Our story

It started with one teacher the parents of Nerul did not want to let go. Scroll slowly and watch the tree grow. Every leaf is a class we teach today.

Our story as a tree. A seed planted in 2016. Today five branches: Playgroup, Nursery, Junior KG, Senior KG and Daycare. A plaque reads Registered society, Government of Maharashtra, Reg. No. Mah/840/Thane/2009.Playgroup2 to 3 yearsNursery3 to 4 yearsJunior KG4 to 5 yearsSenior KG5 to 6 yearsDaycaretill 8:00 PM2016Registered societyGovt. of MaharashtraReg. No. Mah/840/Thane/2009
  • It began with a teacher

    Rajashree

Before Dream World, Rajashree was a teacher in Nerul, and a well-loved one. Parents trusted her with their children before they trusted any school. Those parents kept saying the same thing: start your own school, we will come. In 2016 she did, in a small lane in Sector 10, and the first families to join were the ones who had encouraged her.

  • 2016, a seed

Our school opened in 2016, in a small lane in Sector 10. It is opposite Ekta Apartment, near the Ganesh Mandir. My idea was simple. A school close to home. A school small enough that every teacher knows every child by name. A school where children come in running, not crying.

  • Today, five classes and two branches

Today we take children from 2 to 6 years. The classes are Playgroup, Nursery, Junior KG and Senior KG. If you work late, your child can stay in our daycare till 8 PM. We now have 2 branches in Nerul, and we are a registered society under the Government of Maharashtra (Reg. No. Mah/840/Thane/2009).

  • Always the same

Some things have not changed in all these years. The yellow uniform. The pink classroom walls with ABC painted on them. And one rule: every festival is celebrated, always.

Chapter 2

In our own words

This is what we wrote about our school on Kiddenz. We have kept it exactly as it is.

Activity time at the blue tables. Small groups, so every child gets a turn.

Playgroup is the most exciting yet important phase of your child. The children for the first time come out of the comfort of their parents and start to interact with the environment. During the Playgroup, we ensure that a child develops affection towards the school, makes new friends, understands student – teacher relationships and most importantly knows that there is a world outside their home.

At this age the children are much more receptive and are eager to learn new concepts. During this age there is a lot of focus on improving the fine muscle development through Montessori mode. Throughout the day children make self-directed actions (but carefully guided choices), participate in small groups activities, take part in circle time and build the confidence needed to try new things. Children enjoy free play to allow creativity and imagination to flourish. Nursery teachers facilitate opportunities for children to engage in reading, writing, listening and speaking using poems, finger plays, puppets, singing and rhyming.

A few words from me, Rajashree Naikwadi

Founder and Centre Head. Founder of the 'Mission 10,000 Adarsh Shikshika' teacher-training initiative, which aims to train 10,000 passionate ideal teachers across Maharashtra.

Our social and emotional learning based outcomes nurtures self esteem in children as children are taught to recognize and label emotions and manage their feelings and behavior that leads to independent and confident learners. Creative and aesthetic awareness based learning outcomes to ensure that children are given opportunities to explore their environment through creative play, art, music and movement.

Activities are designed to help the Early years children learn by making sense of things and people around them, investigate the world, form relationships and engage in active social interactions. Early years learning in the Playschool and Nursery class ensures a smooth transition to the more structured and skill-driven learning expectations of the kindergarten years.
